The 1st Amendment to the Constitution did not establish the separation of church and state but confirmed the proper relationship between church and state.

It unequivocally established the principles of Christianity as being preeminent over the actions of the state. It affirmed that the state exist to support the Christian principles of personal and national liberty ordained by God. Those liberties were boldly proclaimed by the Declaration of Independence to be the basis for all legitimate actions of governments.

The 1s  Amendment reads:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech , or of the press; or the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Thomas Jefferson said, “Let no more be heard of confidence in men, but rather bind them down by the chains of the constitution.”

The Constitution as well as it’s amendments binds the federal government, limiting it’s actions, only, to those expressly authorized by the Constitution itself. When the federal government operates outside the limits of these bounds it becomes a government in rebellion and is in violation of it’s charter.

This is the circumstance we find ourselves in today. We have a federal government in rebellion, refusing to adhere to it’s constitutional constrains.

We chose people from our midst, electing them to represent us and bind them to the constitution through an oath and then find them routinely violating their oath of office. Too often they pass laws that restrict the God given liberties of the people bringing us into subjection to burdensome governmental regulations that restrict our religious and civil liberties.

We have a moral responsibility, to God, ourselves and our posterity, to rein in our wayward government.

People who cherish our liberties must come together to preserve them.  Join with us as we pray together and work together to return America to her Christian heritage.
